In 1889, Choctaw become the first charted city in Oklahoma. Today, young families are moving to the area because of the top rated school system (22nd largest in state), low crime rate, abundant housing, easy access to excellent medical care and wonderful parks and recreation facilities, including championship golf. Choctaw’s median household income rate is well above the state average ($58,300) while the cost of living is 13% below the U.S. average. Choctaw’s unique German “Oktoberfest” celebration attracts thousands to The Choctaw Creek Park each September.
